BCCLA’s 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) is an opportunity to hear highlights of the Association’s work over the past year and our key priorities into the months ahead. We will also conduct AGM business and announce voting results of our Board elections, special resolution, and other governance items. When: Monday, June 16th, 2025 from 5:45 pm – 6:30 pm PST/8:45 pm – 9:30 pm EST
Where: Virtually via Zoom.

The call for nominations for the Board from the membership was open from Wednesday, April 16th, 2025 until Wednesday, April 30th, 2025 at 5:00 pm Pacific Standard Time.
Every year, the BC Civil Liberties Association (BCCLA) invites its members to nominate candidates for election to the Board of Directors. BCCLA Directors are deeply committed to our mandate to promote, defend, maintain, and extend civil liberties and human rights in Canada. Nominations are accepted from a diverse range of groups and communities.
This year, the BCCLA received 4 nominations for 3 available seats, including one incumbent seeking re-election. This year’s AGM also includes a special resolution to amend select sections of the Association’s Bylaws; please see below the full text of the special resolution and related amendments. Only members who became members or renewed their membership before March 15, 2025 can vote. Members will receive a notice informing them of their voter status. If you are eligible to vote, you will receive an electronic ballot and instructions on how to cast your vote from Simply Voting on May 30th. Voting closes June 15 at 11:59pm PST.

Please note that this year’s AGM is only open to members, and all members are welcome. Only members in good standing who joined before March 15th, 2025 will be able to vote in the business portion of the meeting.
