Become a BCCLA Member

There’s strength in numbers — join BCCLA as a member today.

BCCLA members are committed to the protection of civil liberties and human rights for all. They hold the Association together by ensuring we can:

  • Be free of government or corporate influence
  • Operate on a note-for-profit basis
  • Maintain the flexibility required to protect our cherished rights and freedoms

Without our members, we simply wouldn’t exist.

To purchase your $5 BCCLA membership, complete the form below.

Our members vote to elect skilled Board members who oversee our strategic path, support BCCLA’s activities with their participation, and lend a critical eye to our work.

If you decide to become a BCCLA member, you’ll also receive:

  • Our yearly DemCom (Democratic Commitments) newsletter
  • Our Annual Report
  • Regular updates on our work
  • Invitations to special events
  • Information on how you can support organizational governance

Members are eligible to vote at our Annual General Meeting and run for BCCLA’s board.*

Achieving lasting change doesn’t happen overnight — with our members alongside us, we can be ready for the long haul.

Sustaining Membership

Sustaining Members are members who also support BCCLA with monthly donations. If you start a monthly donation, you’ll be able to become a member free of charge.

Monthly donors sustain our work in the long run, allowing us to tackle the root causes of injustice and create structural, systemic change. It’s an incredibly effective way to extend your impact.

Are you already a monthly donor and want to be a member as well? Click here to add membership to your existing monthly donations, without any additional fees.

Membership fees are not eligible for charitable tax receipts. Membership lasts 365 days from date of purchase and is an annual fee. We will send you a renewal reminder 10 days ahead of its expiry.

Have questions about membership? Check out our list of frequently asked questions.

*Members must have a valid membership as of March 15 each year to be eligible to vote in the AGM. To be eligible to run for BCCLA’s board, you must have a valid membership prior to 11:59pm PDT on December 31.
