In this final submission, the BCCLA provides recommendations related to police policies and practices to the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. Our analysis and recommendations focus on three main areas that are vital to improving police policies and practices in relation to Indigenous women and girls: policing without bias, police accountability and complaint mechanisms, and community relations. A number of additional recommendations are also included that we believe would improve policing systems.
