Letter to Vancouver Police Board Regarding Methodology for Investigation of Street Check Complaint

Letter to the Vancouver Police Board regarding the methodology for the investigation of the Union of BC Indian Chiefs (UBCIC) and BCCLA Complaint on the practice of “street checks.” The letter asks that the Police Board ensure that there is a truly independent and thorough invesigation of the street checks complaint. The Board has indicated  that the VPD is investigating the complaint against itself, which is insufficient to be able to understand the impact of the VPD’s practices on affected communities.
