Letter in response to Vancouver Police Department report on street checks

Joint letter with Union of British Columbia Indian Chiefs (UBCIC) to the Vancouver Police Board Service and Policy Complaint Review Committee regarding the Vancouver Police Department’s report on street checks. The letter highlights that the Board should only adopt a new policy on street checks once it has had the benefit of further, independent reports to provide a better picture of the practice of street checks and police stops, their efficacy, and their impact on racialized and Indigenous people in the city.
