2026 Annual General Meeting

Join us at our 2026 AGM to hear from BCCLA Board and staff about our work protecting civil liberties and human rights for all. We will be conducting usual AGM business and announcing new Board members. Instructions on how to join, as well as the AGM package (including any special resolutions), will be distributed to the membership at least fourteen (14) days prior to the AGM.

 

What: BCCLA 2026 Annual General Meeting

When: Thursday June 11, 2026; 5:45pm – 7:00pm PDT (8:45 pm – 10:00 pm EST)

Board Election and Special Resolutions

The call for nominations to BCCLA’s Board of Directors was open to our membership from Friday April 10, 2026 until Friday April 24, 2026 at 5:00pm PDT.

Every year, BCCLA invites its members to nominate candidates for election to the Board of Directors. BCCLA Board Directors are deeply committed to our mandate to promote, defend, maintain, and extend civil liberties and human rights in Canada. Nominations are accepted from a diverse range of groups and communities. 

This year, BCCLA received 8 nominations for 7 available seats, including 5 incumbents seeking re-election.  

Voting for the BCCLA Board of Directors will take place online prior to BCCLA’s AGM. The voting period will begin on Friday May 22, 2026 and end on Wednesday June 5, 2026 at 11:59pm PDT.  

Only members who became members or renewed their membership before March 15, 2026 can vote. If you‘re eligible to vote, you will receive an electronic ballot and instructions on how to cast your vote from Simply Voting on May 22, 2026.

Membership

Please note that our 2026 AGM is open to members only. All members are welcome. Only members who were in good standing before March 15, 2026  will be able to vote in the elections and the business portion of the meeting.
