The BCCLA’s 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) is an opportunity to hear highlights of the Association’s work over the past year and our key priorities into the months ahead. We will also conduct AGM business and announce our new Board members.
When: Monday, June 10th, 2024 from 5:45 pm – 7:00 pm PST/8:45 pm – 10 pm EST
Where: Virtually via Zoom. Details will be provided after registration. All members will receive an RSVP link by email or mail.

Board of Directors Nominations
The call for nominations for the Board from the membership is open from Friday, April 12, 2024 until Friday, April 26, 2024 at 5:00 pm Pacific time.
Correction: Please note that the BCCLA has 5 incumbents seeking re-election to fill 5 seats available on the BCCLA Board of Directors, not 4 incumbents and 4 seats available, as communicated in our April 10 email to members.
The BCCLA invites its members to nominate candidates for election to the Board of Directors. BCCLA Directors are deeply committed to our mandate to preserve, defend, maintain, and extend civil liberties and human rights in Canada.
Nominations are accepted from a diverse range of individuals and communities. We also encourage nominations from all regions of the province. Directors are not required to be residents in BC’s Lower Mainland, as we facilitate distance participation in board meetings. If you are interested in nominating yourself or someone else, you can view our Nomination Package or contact us and we will mail you a hard copy.
Voting for the BCCLA Board of Directors will take place online prior to the BCCLA’s AGM. The period for voting will begin Friday, May 24, 2024 and will end on 11:59 pm Pacific Time. If there are no contested seats, all eligible candidates will be elected by acclamation.
Membership
Please note that this year’s AGM is only open to members, and all members are welcome. Only members in good standing who joined before March 15, 2024 will be able to vote in the business portion of the meeting.
