BCCLA letter to RCMP: Respect Indigenous rights and the Constitution

Vancouver (Coast Salish Territories) – The BC Civil Liberties Association (BCCLA) is deeply concerned about unconfirmed and troubling reports of a possible plan by RCMP to remove a group of Wet’suwet’en people from their camp in their traditional territories against their will.

We have written a letter of concern to the RCMP to say that it would be “irresponsible and disrespectful of the constitutional rights of the Unist’ot’en” for the Crown to do this. Our letter is available below.
