BCCLA calls for clemency for Canadian citizen on death row

The BCCLA wrote to the Montana Board of Pardons and Parole today to support a clemency application filed by Ronald Allen Smith. Mr. Smith is one of only two prisoners on death row in Montana, and the only Canadian citizen facing serious risk of execution in the United States. We asked the Board to recommend commutation of his death sentence to one of life imprisonment without parole, and that the Governor of Montana exercise executive clemency.
