Professor John Lowman of Simon Fraser University’s School of Criminology is set to headline the B.C. Civil Liberties Association’s Annual General Meeting this Wednesday evening, March 28 at 7:30 pm at the YWCA (535 Hornby St, Vancouver)
Professor Lowman is a recognized expert on the sex trade in Canada and the need for reform of the law that criminalizes and regulates Canada’s “oldest profession”. His talk is entitled: A Deadly Inertia: Prospects for Prostitution Law Reform in Canada. It will be followed by a question and answer period. The AGM will also highlight some of the work of the BCCLA, Canada’s most active civil liberties organization.
