BCCLA intern film chosen for Vancouver Short Film Festival

The BC Civil Liberties Association is thrilled to announce that Fiona Rayher’s film “Most
Livable City” has been selected for the Vancouver Short Film Festival. The film, about the right
to water, was prepared during Rayher’s internship with the BCCLA. Rayher worked with
cinematographer Daanish Ali on the project.

“We are very pleased that Fiona’s film is getting this attention,” said Robert Holmes, President
of the BCCLA. “It is a wonderful documentary and she worked very hard on it. It also carries a
very important message that is particularly meaningful to the Association – that every
Canadian deserves access to clean, safe water.”

The Vancouver Short Film Festival runs from October 28 to 29 at the VIFC Vancity Theatre,
1181 Seymour Street, Vancouver. Most Livable City screens at 7:30 p.m. on October 28th as
part of the “Emerging Filmmakers” series.

“It’s a great honour to be selected,” said Fiona Rayher. “It was a privilege to be able to partner
with the BCCLA in order to get the word out about the right to water. And it was rewarding and
humbling to interact with the people who are most affected. Daanish and I will never forget the
stories that they shared.”

Fiona’s internship was funded by the YWCA/YMCA Youth Eco Internship Program and the
internship’s core expenses were covered by the Law Foundation of British Columbia.
